Anne Brewer
Born and
raised in Denmark Anne received her earliest art education in Copenhagen,
Denmark.

Influenced by the works of Chinese artists she became interested in
Chinese Brush Painting and studied under the tutelage of Audrey Quigley,
professor I-Hsiung Ju, Dr. Ning Yeh, Henry Wo Yue-Kee and Diana Kan.
In 1982 Anne
began to teach Chinese painting at the Chevy Chase Community Center and
the American University's Open University Program in Washington, D.C.
After moving to Florida she taught at the Dunedin Fine Arts Center,
Dunedin, Florida Gulf Coast Art Center, Belleair, the Golda Meir Center,
Clearwater and The Top of the World Activities Center,
Clearwater.
Anne has exhibited her paintings in New York, Washington, D.C., Virginia,
California and locally in city halls, cultural centers, libraries and
banks. She is the recipient of awards ranging from Best of Show to
Honorable Mention.
In 1989 she initiated the forming of the Fu Sang Artists' Guild, an
organization that serves the Tampa Bay area and whose objective is to
further interest in Chinese Brush Painting and to promote intercultural
understanding.
During her
travel throughout China in the summer of 2002 she cherished the beauty and
harmony of the mountainous Chinese landscape. This unforgettable
experience has inspired her to continue the work that has absorbed her for
so many years.
